Graduation Mission Statement and Information
The Blinn College District Graduation Office strives to successfully review degrees, certificates, and award completion. The Graduation Office communicates the importance of the graduation process with students, faculty, and staff.
At the end of the fall, spring, and summer semesters, the Blinn College District awards diplomas to students who complete their degree and certificate requirements. Blinn does not automatically award degrees and certificates. Students must apply for graduation within the semester they are completing the coursework. Blinn invites successful graduation applicants to attend a formal ceremony. Students who complete their coursework in the summer can attend either the fall or spring ceremonies. The ceremony location alternates between Brenham and Bryan.
Jessica Espino will transfer to Texas A&M with an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts
When Jessica Espino addresses her fellow graduates at the Blinn College District’s fall graduation ceremony this December, she will speak from experience about the sense of community and belonging she discovered at Blinn.
“It was a very small graduation, and some of my sisters couldn’t be there,” Espino said.

Graduation FAQs
Graduation applications for each semester are available by at least the beginning of that semester, if not earlier. Apply for the semester in which you will be completing your degree or certificate requirements. You can apply for graduation through myBLINN by clicking on the "Apply for Graduation" icon.
You can review your degree status by logging into myBLINN or talk with an advisor if you have any questions about the requirements.
The Graduation Office reviews graduation applications throughout each semester. Depending on the number of applicants for that semester, it may be a couple of weeks before you receive a graduation status email.
Please note: the week of graduation in each semester is a busy time as we prepare for the graduation ceremony and other end-of-semester duties. Students who apply for graduation during this time may experience a delay in having their application reviewed.
The Blinn College District honor graduates have reached the three highest levels of academic achievement while earning two-year associate degrees. The distinction of Summa Cum Laude is bestowed upon those graduates earning an overall grade point average of 4.0 to 3.9. Magna Sum Laude is awarded to those graduates with grade point averages of 3.89 to 3.70. Cum Laude graduates are those with grade point averages of 3.69 to 3.50.
Honor graduates are recognized in the printed graduation program, based on their last calculated grade point average. The program is printed before the current semester’s final grades are turned in by the instructors.
The Blinn College District does not provide cords or stoles to honor graduates. The title of honor graduate is not printed on diplomas or transcripts.
The ceremony is a distinguished event. Please dress tastefully, and keep in mind the robe is knee-to shin length. Slacks or knee-length skirts are appropriate. You may be standing for an hour or longer, so please wear comfortable shoes.
Blinn College will provide a cap and gown to each graduate.
